It’s Salsa Time

No NFL football games.  What’s a girl to do?  Well the off season is the best time to get a head start on dishes for the next football season.  Let’s take this time to practice and put together some tantalizing meals.  When the time comes to have a Sunday season party you will know exactly what to make and how to make it.  You can impress your friends at your NFL Draft party!

Our first go to favorite will be a simple side dish.  Like any good football player knows, you have to start with the basics.  Once you have that down you can build on it with more complicated fare.  So ladies get your knives and let the chopping begin!

Recipe: Salsa

•       4 medium tomatoes, halved

•       1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves

•       1 garlic clove, crushed

•       3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

•       2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

•       1 jalapeno pepper seeded

•       Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions

Put the tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, olive oil, lime juice, and pepper in a food processor. Pulse until the ingredients are combined but still chunky. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to a small bowl and serve with tortilla chips.
