Larry Fitzgerald held his 2012 Football ProCamp at McClintock High School in Arizona. The weather was amazing, the field was covered in a range of boys and girls all wanting to learn the fundamentals Fitz had to offer. Yes I said boys and girls. Young girls were out there throwing the ball around, and learning how to block.
More and more females are stepping out and becoming active in football. From playing fantasy football, to attending NFL games, and now young girls asking their parents to send them out to ProCamps; football is no longer just a man’s sport. What does Arizona Cardinals 6 time Pro Bowl wide receiver, Larry Fitzgerald, have to say about the NFL today and the female audience? I love it. Women are well… you see so many women playing fantasy football. I’m happy that women are taking interest in our sport. It’s a lot of fun seeing the girls competing out here. It’s great!” stated Fitz. when fellow contributor Misti asked away.
Larry wasn’t the only one who had a few words to say about the female on the football field. Former Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders Cheerleader, Angie Nazario, who is the mother to her and Fitzgerald’s children had a few words about turnout. Angie commented that it was fun to see them “be themselves” amongst the boys and being able to express their emotions on the field.
See ladies! It’s not a man’s world we can find ways to become a part of the sports… and it starts with us. Angie Nazario went on to say that she grew up in and around sports, loves that women are actively involved in football and sports in general in today’s world… So seeing these young girls out there inspired Misti and myself, as we continued on with the ProCamp.
We even made sure to pull Fitz. to the side and ask a few questions… and Larry Fitzgerald even took a moment to stop and reflect on the loss of linebacker, Junior Seau, with the following statement, “He was always to kind to me… always so gracious with his time. Always made time. I really appreciate that. So when I heard about that I was heartbroken.”
There are several camps with exciting players coming up in the next few weeks, including Ben Roethlisberger, Clay Matthews, Matt Ryan, Justin Tuck, and Ndamukong Suh. Receive $20 off of any camp registration when you enter “HerGameLife” at checkout.
That’s not all the Cardinal’s player had to say… just take a look at the full interview that Misti had with him.
