Despite free cap space, Jacksonville still at odds with running back

Maurice Jones-Drew and the Jaguars are still at a standstill on the running back’s contract, even though the team has the most free cap space in the NFL. General manager Gene Smith has refused a new contract, according to Jacksonville.com: “He has expressed that he would like to renegotiate and we have expressed, again, that we feel he has a contract with two years left and we expect him to fulfill those obligations.” The running back led the league in rushing yards last season with 1,606 yards on 343 carries.
