Steelers got their first preseason win last night with a 26-24 victory over the Colts
My Top 5 Highlights and standouts from the game, some positive ~ some negative, in random order:
*Kelvin Beachum ~ He’s getting a lot of snaps. Beaten on nearly every play. Had a few holding penalties.
*Ike Taylor ~ One of the most underrated corners, in my opinion. Nice pick six!
*Mike Adams ~ He didn’t have a bad game against the Colts. Looks like he will need more work before he’s ready to start at LT.
*Antonio Brown ~ Did you see that flip into the end zone? Priceless! He took a screen pass from Big Ben and “was off to the races” 57 yards for the TD.
Someone missing from the game last night…our guy, Mike Wallace. There are whispers that he’ll be back “soon”, but no firm date has been mentioned. “I look forward to seeing him hopefully sooner rather than later,” OC Todd Haley said last week. Yeah, me too, we need him in the game people! When Haley was asked how long it would take Wallace to get up to speed (with the new offense/play book), he said “Everyone is a little different. A lot of other guys know him better but I am a little familiar with his skill set, and it is pretty impressive. I would think we will just tailor to his skills early on and ease him into it. You want a guy like that involved as much as you can because he is a difference-maker.”
