It appears that WR Mike Wallace wants a long term contract with the Steelers rather than a non-guaranteed spot for $2.7 million for this upcoming season. But Wallace doesn’t realize that the Steelers have a history of trading players that want a higher salary such as Plaxico Burress and Santonio Holmes. The General Manager, Kevin Colbert, is not going to consider negotiating with Wallace until he reports to camp. Wallace fails to realize that there are two up and coming WRs on the Steelers roster right behind him on the depth chart. Although, it will be odd not seeing Wallace on the field at the start of the of the season, he has until Week 10 to sign his tender.
