Slow start for the Oakland Raiders

It’s only preseason…thank goodness! The Oakland Raiders are 0-2 but not exactly looking like the typical Raiders. They are playing well and they are not making the big mistakes they usually make that cost them easy wins. I do have faith in the Raiders still. I still believe they will get themselves together and win their division. These games are just learning lessons for them, and they will get it together by their opening game against the Chargers.

The game against the Cowboys was a defensive battle on both sides. Cowboys scoring 3 points and the Raiders not scoring at all. Each team had a turnover, but these turnovers were not detrimental to the teams or to the final score. I just wish Mr. Janikowski would have kicked like he did last season. That would have guaranteed the Raiders a W-I-N.

Their performance against the Cardinals was bittersweet. They started off slow, trailing 24-11 going into halftime, but then something set them off and brought them to a tied game at the end of the 3rd quarter. YAY GO RAIDERS! At times they make me proud :) But then the Cardinals were able to keep possession and run out the clock to ensure their 31-27 victory. Noooo! Come on Raiders you’re much better than that!

I would like to highlight the players that are helping the Raiders get off to a good start. Jacoby Ford, returning kick offs. Darren McFadden, running for yards and yards. Kerry Rhodes, intercepting passes. Carl Ihenacho, stripping balls from opposing teams. I applaud all the athletes for working as hard as they have been. I also applaud the Raiders organization for not playing dirty. I’m just hoping these two games have given the Raiders the fuel and confidence to win these last two preseason games.

Let’s go Raiders, let’s go (clap clap)!

For as long as I can remember, football has always been a part of my life; both of my parents are football fans, and my younger brother played football. I have never had a favorite football team as much as I have had favorite players. Just as long as a good game is on the tv I don’t care which teams I’m watching. I was a gymnast for 12 years and I have been cheering for the past 7 years. I’m currently attending the University of Phoenix to obtain my BS in liberal studies and my teaching credentials. When I’m not glued to the tv watching sports, I’m spending time with my 1 year old son and coaching cheerleading.
