Tampa Bay Bucs on a Tough Road

The Tampa Bay Bucs faced the Titans Friday night at Ray Jay and could not handle them.  The Bucs lost 30-7 and the only scoring came thanks to the defense.  Ahmad Black picked off Jake Locker (who was recently named starting quarterback for the titans) which led to a Josh Freeman touchdown throw to Mike Williams.

The team did not play with the same toughness as they did in Miami and looked sloppy.  The starters were stretched, playing most of the first quarter.  LeGarrette Blount left the game with a groin injury which doesn’t seen to be too serious.

After the disappointing performance, the Bucs decided to add a few players.  They signed sixth-year CB Brandon McDonald who last played with the Lions and has a career total of 162 tackles in 69 games.  They also claimed WR Jordan Shipley off waivers from the Bengals.  The third-year player has three touchdowns in 17 games.  Those three touchdowns came in his rookie season.

I feel the Bucs are deep at WR, so now it just comes down to who can impress and help out the team this season.  I still think that Tiquan Underwoon has a good shot at making the roster.

The Patriots will workout with the Bucs starting Wednesday in preparation for the game Friday night.

In other Bucs news, ex-Buc and fan favorite, Barrett Rudd was traded to the Saints from the Seahawks.  The Bucs will see him twice during this upcoming season.
