It’s Week 4 in the NFL, and fans are beginning to distinguish their team’s personality. Chargers’ fans know that their team isn’t as good as they thought after Week 2 but probably not as bad as they are imagining after that embarrassing Week 3 loss to the Falcons.
This Sunday’s matchup features two division rivals as the San Diego Chargers visit the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. This game should reveal a lot about who the Chargers truly are. In the first two games it was clear that the Chargers were unable to get anything going on the ground. Some believed it would improve with the return of Ryan Mathews; others continued to worry after Mathews’ red-zone fumble.
With the Chiefs coming off an overtime victory against the Saints, it seems as if the momentum is 100 percent behind the home team. The Chargers will need to get their offense rolling after they failed to score a touchdown last Sunday. The defense will need to be dominant, applying pressure to Matt Cassel and stopping Jamaal Charles.
Chargers outside linebacker Jarret Johnson said it best last week when he was micked up for ‘Sound FX.’ Johnson passionately yelled in the huddle, “It’s times like this we show our true character.” Bring on KC.
