Hey Jerry, some words of advise: “Keep you mouth shut or the New York Football Giants will do it for you”. There is an old cliché in the book of football “The Game of Inches”. Sunday’s game was a perfect example. With ten seconds left and down by five Tony Romo threw to Dez Bryant who caught the ball in the end zone, however his finger tips were first to touch the ground and they were out of bounds. A little funny due to when Dez was coming out of Oklahoma all they talked about was how long his fingers are.
I really do not believe there are any back up players on the Giants. All of them play like starters. This week Stevie Brown is going to make the Giants wonder who will start upon Kenny Phillips return. Stevie had an enormous game forcing three turnovers , two of them being interceptions. Over all Big Blues defence looked great. Chris Canty brought excellent inside pressure on Romo and Linval Joesph is making his present seen and heard this year. A special congratulations to JPP for his first touch down of his career after picking Romo off for a 28 yard run back.
The Giants add another win to their column, with what was probably their worst offensive game all year. The wide outs couldn’t beat the one on one man coverage. Combine that with the lost running game, its not so good. They only picked up a whopping 3 of 15 third down conversions. Overall a sloppy performance. They enabled Dallas to stay relatively close.
The Cowboys failed to win due to their own issues on offense. Felix Jones most certainly did not fill DeMarco Murray’s shoes. Romo was sacked 5 times, threw 4 interceptions, and Dallas coughed up 6 turnovers.
The Giants validated themselves today as to why they are sitting on top of the NFC at 6-2 and are one of the most dominating teams in the league is due to their “Mistake free team”. They’ve allowed only 5 sacks and 9 turnovers this season. They are second in the NFL with the least amount of penalties. They are a very solid group. This will carry them far however the Giants running game must step up to ensue victories. Giants face the Steelers next week at home 4:25 eastern time.
L. Tynes: 5-5 field goal attempts
S. Brown: 2 interceptions 1 fumble recovery
