Thunder demolish the Bobcats

There’s not much you can say about the Thunder Bobcats game tonight that the score doesn’t show.  The final was 114-69.  The starters came out of the game with 6 and a half minutes left in the 3rd quarter.  Everyone of the Thunder players scored tonight.  Thabeet finally recorded his first double double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  13 points is always a career high in points for Thabeet.  The Thunder shot 60% from the floor in the first half and led by 40.  They pushed it to as many 57 points.  The Thunder ended the night shooting 51%.  It was a complete blowout.

There isn’t much you can take out of this game.  One good thing is the Thunder starters got a lot of rest before a huge game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night.  The Thunder are the better team, but emotionally it will be interesting to see which team shows up and how they play against their old teammates.  Not the long ago, this same Rockets team beat the Knicks by 30 points when Jeremy Lin played his first game against his old team.  The Rockets will be looking for a repeat performance for James Harden and the others.  The Thunder will be in for a dog fight on Wednesday night.

The only other thing that you can take from this game is Jeremy Lamb and Perry Jones III got extended minutes on the floor.  They both still look pretty average and hesitant, but every minute that those 2 can get will be a good thing for their futures.  They just need to continue to take the minutes they get and use them to make themselves better.   The bench also scored points, making the final margin 45 points, which is the largest margin of victory for the Thunder franchise.  It was also a new low for points scored against them with 69.

Overall this was a really good win for the Thunder against a halfway decent Bobcats team.  Now we need to take this momentum and use it going forward in a very important game for the Thunder fans against one of their old favorites.
