College Basketball Preseason: Georgetown Hoyas

 

The start of college basketball season is here as USA TODAY Sports’ releases their NCAA preseason projections. Here’s a breakdown of the Georgetown Hoyas!

 

End of last season: Big East Champs, 25-7

Beginning of this season: lose Otto Porter to the Washington Wizards and Greg Whittington to a torn ACL

 

End of last season: lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to fifteenth seed Florida Gulf Coast University

Beginning of this season: return Starks and Smith-Rivera to Hoya backcourt

 

The good: Top 10 team and Big East Championship contender year after year

The bad: Five consecutive losses to double digit seeds in NCAA Tournament

The always: Head Coach John Thompson III returns for his tenth season

 

USA TODAY Sports projects: an at-large bid as a number seven seed
