Kyle Busch Quit Dominating the Nationwide Series

Kyle Busch

Friday night’s Nationwide race at Charlotte Motor Speedway was won by none other than Kyle Busch.  He is the most disliked driver in NASCAR at the moment which does not help his fan base.  His winning a Nationwide race every time he gets in the car fuels his thirst to keep doing so.  I was at the race Friday night and was glad I did not stay to watch him win.  I think it puts a damper on the whole series to see the same person win over and over again.  There are thirty-nine other drivers out there on track trying to win the race too.  There is a big points battle between Sam Hornish, Jr. and Austin Dillon for the Nationwide Series championship.  Last night they were fighting it out for second place.  If Kyle Busch was not in the race, it would be a really good storyline having the top two contenders in the championship trying to get the win.

What I do not understand is why Kyle Busch is still wanting to race these Nationwide races when he has a Sprint Cup championship to be more focused on.  I get that every racer wants to race but there has to be some kind of limitation that is affecting his chance to win a Sprint Cup Series championship.  Kyle has something to race for in the cup series these last few races.  I talked to a representative from Penske Racing last night about Brad Keselowski not being in the chase and he said it sucks.  There is nothing really to race for other than wins but it is not going to get you the championship after not making the chase, especially after their amazing chase run for the championship last year and winning it.

The positive thing that came out of last night’s win was that all of the winnings will go to the Pretty in Pink Foundation to help pay off breast cancer related medical bills for many women.  Busch’s wife Samantha Busch supports the Pretty in Pink Foundation.  $154,000 will go to a great cause and will definitely be put to needed use.

Hey everybody! My name is Rachel Almario and I am very excited to start blogging about my favorite sport NASCAR. I am a recent graduate from Clayton State University in Morrow, GA and majored in Communications and Media Studies. I have been a huge NASCAR fan growing up and knew I always wanted to work in the sport. I am from McDonough, GA which is in the same county as Atlanta Motor Speedway. I interned at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the Marketing and Promotions Department summer of 2012. I have also had two other NASCAR related internships since then. The summer of 2013 I interned for NASCAR in the Industry Services department in Daytona Beach, FL. I also interned at Breaking Limits motorsports marketing company that does PR for Richard Petty Motorsports, Front Row Motorsports, and other sponsor accounts. I work at the NASCAR Hall of Fame and love it. I’m just trying to break through and work in the sport I love. My dream would be to travel to every race on the circuit and hopefully one day that will come true!
