Philadelphia Eagles

Foles over Vick

By: Matthew Straubmuller

Original Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback has been demoted by head coach Chip Kelly. Now, backup quarterback Nick Foles is assigned the starting position for next week’s game against the Cardinals and for beyond.

However, Vick is being encouraging about the demotion, telling ESPN reporters a few days ago, “In all honesty and all fairness, how can you take a guy out of the game who’s playing so well? I understand the position this team is in. The one thing I never want to do is be a distraction.”

Vick has been out four games due to a hamstring injury. Foles has proved himself worthy of the starting QB, as shown by his stats compared to Vick. Foles has thrown for 16 touchdowns while Vick only had 3 this season. Foles zero interceptions compared to Vick’s three. Foles also has tied the NFL record with seven touchdowns in one game (against the Raiders) and helped the Eagles move to the tie the number one spot in the NFC East division.

After a three game win streak, how can you not make Foles a starter?
